YOUR INSTRUCTOR The instructor at LynAir is Captain David E.R.Deacon who has a wealth of experience in aviation and has been a flying instructor for many years. He started flying when still at school and obtained his PPL flying Tiger Moths at the age of eighteen. He still flies the Tiger today giving trial lessons. A career in the Royal Air Force saw him through Central Flying School and then instructing basic flying on Jet Provost aircraft. On leaving the RAF he instructed at Oxford Air Training School for a while before getting an appointment at Handley Page Ltd where he became their Training Captain. Then followed 25 years with BOAC/British Airways during which he instructed on Boeing 707 simulator and route flying as a 1st Officer. Command on B707, BAC 1-11 and B747 before reaching retirement age. He then continued instructing at various flying schools and training establishments from PPL to ATPL/IR and still holds a full instructors rating on single and multi-engine aircraft. He has an excellent record of previous students all with 100% first time passes, and comes highly recommended.
